HorizonDaily Media is seeking a seasoned Senior Journalist to join our award-winning newsroom in New York City. Responsibility
- Develop and execute investigative and enterprise reporting across print, digital, and audio platforms.
- Pitch, plan, and produce stories with ambitious timelines while maintaining accuracy and fairness.
- Verify information with primary sources, document review, data analysis, and corroboration from multiple outlets.
- Collaborate with editors, designers, photographers, and data journalists to create multimedia packages.
- Mentor junior reporters and interns, providing guidance on sourcing and storytelling techniques.
- Adhere to AP style and newsroom standards; uphold ethics and transparency in all reporting.
- Adapt coverage for search optimization, social distribution, and audience engagement without compromising integrity.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of reporting experience with a track record of enterprise stories and breaking news.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities with a sharp eye for factual accuracy.
- Strong data literacy; comfortable analyzing datasets and creating clear visuals or summaries.
- Proficiency with digital tools, CMS platforms, and SEO best practices.
- Excellent interviewing skills and the ability to build trust with sources.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing newsroom priorities.
