Responsibility
- Research and report timely, high-impact stories for digital and print outlets.
- Conduct in-depth interviews with sources and subject matter experts.
- Verify facts, corroborate information, and maintain rigorous documentation.
- Write clear, accurate, and engaging copy in line with AP style.
- Collaborate with editors and photographers to craft multimedia features.
- Develop and nurture a diverse network of sources in the New York area.
- Contribute to breaking news coverage and ongoing investigations for digital platforms.
- Mentor junior reporters and participate in newsroom planning and editorial meetings.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
- At least 5 years of newsroom reporting experience
- Strong reporting, storytelling, and investigative skills
- Proficiency with AP style and copyediting
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple assignments
- Ethical judgment and commitment to accuracy and fairness
- Experience with multimedia storytelling and digital tools
- Extensive network of sources in New York and surrounding areas
