Responsibility
- Develop and report on high-impact stories across beats including city news, politics, and culture
- Pitch, research, and write articles with accuracy, balance, and clarity
- Investigate in-depth topics, following ethical journalism standards and best practices
- Collaborate with editors, photographers, and producers to produce multimedia packages
- Verify information through sourcing, data analysis, and documents
- Meet tight deadlines while maintaining thorough copy editing and style alignment
- Engage with audiences on digital platforms, including social media and newsletters
Qualification
- 4+ years of professional journalism experience in a newsroom or equivalent environment
- Strong reporting and interviewing skills with a track record of scoops and accurate stories
- Proficiency in data journalism, fact-checking, and AP style
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication, plus strong editing eye
- Experience producing multimedia content and collaborating with photographers/videographers
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field
