We are seeking a dynamic Senior Legal Consultant to join our premier legal advisory practice in New York City. In this role, you will provide strategic legal guidance to corporate clients, draft and negotiate high-stakes contracts, assess regulatory risk, and lead advisory projects that enable growth while protecting client interests.
As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, translate complex legal concepts into actionable recommendations, and contribute to thought leadership within our firm.
Responsibility
- Lead the drafting and negotiation of complex commercial contracts, technology and licensing agreements, and vendor arrangements.
- Provide strategic legal guidance on regulatory compliance, risk management, data privacy, and corporate governance.
- Perform due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives; summarize findings and present actionable recommendations.
- Draft memos, policy recommendations, and training materials for client teams.
- Collaborate with product, sales, finance, and compliance functions to ensure lawful decision-making and scalable processes.
- Advise clients on dispute avoidance strategies and oversee resolution when needed.
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to knowledge management by developing templates and playbooks.
Qualification
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school; active bar admission in New York or eligibility to register.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal consulting, law firm, or in-house advisory roles.
- Demonstrated excellence in drafting, negotiation, analytical reasoning, and practical problem solving.
- Strong background in corporate law, commercial contracts, and regulatory compliance (privacy, antitrust, employment).
- Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality work under deadlines.
- Excellent client-facing communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience leading teams or mentoring junior staff; comfortable with cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing.
