Praxis Legal Advisory is seeking a Senior Legal Consultant to join our growing team in New York City. You will provide strategic legal guidance to corporate clients, lead complex contract negotiations, and advise on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation. This role blends advanced legal research with practical business counsel.
As a trusted advisor, you will partner with executives, legal teams, and operations to craft scalable solutions that align with business objectives while complying with applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibility
- Lead complex contract reviews and negotiations with clients and vendors, ensuring favorable terms while protecting corporate interests.
- Provide strategic legal counsel on regulatory compliance, governance, and risk management.
- Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare clear, actionable memoranda and briefs for cross-functional teams.
- Advise on data privacy, anti-corruption, and competition law considerations impacting commercial activities.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Finance, and Operations to implement policy updates and training materials.
- Develop scalable contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation playbooks to accelerate deal cycles.
- Support business development through proposals, thought leadership, and client relationships.
Qualification
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the state bar.
- 5+ years of experience in corporate, contract, or regulatory law within a consulting, law firm, or in-house setting.
- Strong legal research and writing skills with the ability to distill complex concepts into business-friendly analysis.
- Proven track record drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and data privacy/compliance matters.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations (eg, data privacy, anti-corruption, securities) and risk assessment methodologies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities; comfortable presenting to executives.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements, prioritize tasks, and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
