Horizon Legal Advisory is seeking a Senior Legal Consultant to lead regulatory compliance initiatives for corporate clients across industries. This role blends strategic advisory with hands-on legal work, including risk assessment, policy development, and cross-border matters. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of U.S. and international regulatory frameworks, strong negotiation skills, and a client-first mindset.
As a Senior Legal Consultant, you will partner with executive leadership to shape compliance programs, perform due diligence, and advise on governance matters to minimize risk and navigate complex regulatory environments.
Responsibility
- Lead regulatory compliance engagements for Fortune 500 clients, from scoping to final deliverables.
- Advise on corporate governance, risk management, and policy development across multiple jurisdictions.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and due diligence for transactional and advisory projects.
- Draft and negotiate high-stakes contracts, licensing agreements, and vendor arrangements.
- Develop and implement scalable compliance programs, training, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HR, IT, and operations to embed legal risk management.
- Provide concise, executive-ready reporting and recommendations to C-suite and boards.
- Mentor junior consultants and manage project budgets and timelines.
Qualification
- J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar admission in good standing.
- 6+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, corporate law, or risk management; consulting experience preferred.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. regulatory frameworks (SEC, FTC, privacy laws such as CPRA, and related cross-border considerations).
- Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills with a proven ability to close complex deals.
- Excellent analytical, research, and writing abilities; capable of translating complex issues for executives.
- Proven project management and client-facing skills; ability to lead teams and manage multiple engagements.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; willingness to travel up to 20%.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; bilingual or multilingual is a plus.
