LexNova Advisory is seeking a Senior Legal Consultant to join our New York City team. You will deliver strategic regulatory guidance, risk assessment, and practical legal solutions to global clients across diverse industries. This role blends rigorous legal analysis with business-focused counsel to help clients navigate complex regulatory regimes and commercial agreements.
In this position, you will supporting programs across governance, risk, and compliance, including privacy, anti-corruption, data security, and cross-border matters. The ideal candidate has a law degree, 6+ years of experience in corporate law or regulatory consulting, and a proven track record of delivering actionable outcomes in fast-paced environments.
Responsibility
- Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs tailored to client needs across multiple industries.
- Conduct regulatory risk assessments, due diligence, and control testing to identify gaps and remediation paths.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, policies, privacy notices, and vendor agreements with attention to risk allocation.
- Advise clients on data privacy, anti-corruption (FCPA), antitrust, employment, and sector-specific regulatory requirements.
- Lead client workshops, present findings, and translate complex legal concepts into actionable recommendations.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (risk, finance, IT, operations) to drive end-to-end solutions.
- Monitor evolving regulations and provide timely updates and practical guidance to clients.
- Develop training materials and deliver workshops to build client internal capabilities.
Qualification
- Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school; bar admission in good standing.
- 6+ years of experience in corporate/commercial law, regulatory compliance, or consulting—prefer cross-border exposure.
- Deep knowledge of US federal and state regulatory frameworks and guidance on privacy, anti-corruption, and competition issues.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Proven project management and client advisory capabilities with a track record of delivering results on time and within scope.
- Strong research skills and proficiency with legal research platforms and regulatory databases.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced consultancy environment; strong business acumen.
- Fluency in presenting to executives and facilitating client workshops; willingness to travel as needed.
