We are seeking a Senior Legal Consultant to advise clients on regulatory compliance, contract governance, data privacy, and risk management.
In this role you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable compliance programs, conduct due diligence, and provide practical, business-friendly recommendations.
Remote-friendly with optional on-site client visits in the New York metro area.
Responsibility
- Lead regulatory compliance engagements for corporate clients across sectors
- Conduct legal research and risk assessments; interpret statutes and regulations; deliver actionable reports
- Draft and negotiate complex contracts, policies, and governance frameworks
- Develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs including data privacy, anti-corruption, and trade controls
- Advise clients on cross-border regulatory issues and international trade compliance
- Prepare training materials and deliver client workshops
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and client relationships; mentor junior staff
Qualification
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; bar admission in NY or eligible in NY
- 5+ years of experience in legal consulting, regulatory compliance, or corporate law
- Deep knowledge of US federal and state regulatory regimes; data privacy laws (GDPR, CPRA, CCPA) beneficial
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills; ability to translate complex law into business impact
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills; ability to manage multiple engagements
- Experience with contract negotiation and policy drafting
- Proficiency with legal research tools and MS Office; project management or consultancy experience a plus
