Job description
We are seeking a results-driven Senior Logistics Operations Manager to lead end-to-end logistics and distribution for a fast-growing organization in Chicago. You will partner with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory flow, warehousing, transportation, and customer delivery performance.
In this role, you will design scalable processes, implement best practices in warehouse and transportation management, and drive cost efficiencies while maintaining service levels. You will lead a high-performing team across warehousing, logistics coordination, and carrier relationships, ensuring operational excellence from dock to delivery.

Responsibility
- Oversee daily logistics operations including warehousing, inbound and outbound shipments, and last-mile coordination to ensure on-time delivery.
- Develop and implement scalable processes for inventory control, order fulfillment, and transportation planning.
- Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service to align demand forecasts with available capacity.
- Lead carrier negotiations, rate benchmarking, and contract management to optimize cost-to-service.
- Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and dock-to-ship cycle times; drive data-driven improvements.
- Manage a high-performing team of logistics coordinators, warehouse staff, and supervisors; build succession plans.
- Lead root-cause analyses for service disruptions and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards across all logistics operations.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, operations management, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain, with at least 2 years in a people leadership role.
- Proven experience with transportation management systems and warehouse management systems (TMS/WMS).
- Strong data analytics and problem-solving skills; proficiency with Excel, SQL, or BI tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities; fluent in English.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Track record of cost-to-serve optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
