NovaLogistics is seeking a results-driven Senior Logistics Operations Specialist to optimize end-to-end supply chain performance from Chicago, IL. You will partner with warehousing, transportation, procurement, and customer service to drive on-time delivery, reduce cost-to-serve, and improve service levels. This full-time role offers an opportunity to own key metrics and advance a data-driven logistics culture.
As a hands-on leader in our operations team, you will design and implement scalable processes that support rapid growth while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and safety across all logistics activities.
Responsibility
- Coordinate daily logistics operations across warehousing, transportation, inventory control, and order fulfillment to ensure on-time delivery and accurate shipments.
- Analyze carrier performance, negotiate rates, and optimize routing to reduce cost-to-serve while maintaining service quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (procurement, sales, and customer service) to align supply planning with demand and inventory targets.
- Monitor KPIs (OTIF, on-time shipments, inventory turns, dock-to-stock) and implement data-driven improvement initiatives.
- Manage ERP/WMS/TMS data integrity, configuration, and reporting; provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or other disciplined methodologies.
- Provide proactive customer communication and issue resolution to minimize escalations and protect revenue.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and security standards across all logistics activities.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field; alternatively, equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5 years of relevant logistics coordination or operations experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong data analysis skills with advanced Excel; experience with SAP, Oracle, WMS, and TMS systems preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; demonstrated stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
- Hands-on experience with route optimization, carrier management, and inventory control.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement exposure is a plus; project leadership is a plus.
