Join Apex Analytics as a Senior Mathematics Research Scientist and help shape the next generation of quantitative methods. This role focuses on foundational mathematical research and its practical translation into scalable analytics solutions across finance, data science, and operations research.
You will collaborate with world-class data scientists, engineers, and domain experts to push the boundaries of probability, statistics, optimization, and numerical analysis.
Responsibility
- Lead and execute advanced mathematical research projects across finance, statistics, and optimization.
- Design, implement, and validate quantitative models; perform backtesting, stress testing, and sensitivity analyses.
- Collaborate with data engineers to deploy models into production and monitor performance in real-time.
- Communicate complex mathematical concepts to non-specialists and guide decision-making with rigorous evidence.
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to grant writing, proposals, and publication planning.
- Develop reproducible analytical pipelines using Python, R, MATLAB, Julia; document methodologies and results.
- Publish internal reports and contribute to external scholarly articles and conference presentations.
Qualification
- PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or a closely related field; or MS with substantial applied research experience.
- Proven track record in applied mathematics with publications or demonstrable impact on projects.
- Expertise in probability theory, stochastic processes, optimization, numerical analysis, and statistical modeling.
- Strong programming skills in Python; proficiency with R, MATLAB, or Julia is a plus.
- Experience with data-driven modeling, backtesting, and deploying analytic solutions at scale.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex ideas to cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
