Job description

We’re seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration from concept through production.

In this role, you’ll drive innovative, robust mechanical architectures, optimize for manufacturability, and mentor junior engineers in a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibility

  • Lead mechanical system design from concept to validation, including 3D modeling and GD&T
  • Perform FEA/CFD analyses to verify performance and optimize designs
  • Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, and supplier teams to ensure feasibility and producibility
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, specifications, and change control using PLM tools
  • Lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvement using structured problem solving (8D, DOE)
  • Create prototypes, test protocols, and fixtures; interpret test data to drive design decisions
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers; contribute to project planning and risk management

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • 5+ years of mechanical design experience in product development
  • Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks or CATIA); familiarity with other tools a plus
  • Experience with FEA/CFD (ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar)
  • Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability
  • Experience with prototyping, testing, and data-driven decision making
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills
  • US work authorization or equivalent; willingness to occasional travel
