Job description
Join Apex Motion Technologies as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and lead the design, analysis, and refinement of our high-precision motion systems used in automated manufacturing equipment.
You will own mechanical architecture from concept through production, advising on material selection, tolerance stacks, and assembly processes. This role demands collaboration with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust, scalable products on schedule.
We offer a trajectory for growth, a modern work environment, and competitive compensation.
Responsibility
- Lead mechanical concept development and architecture for motion control systems.
- Perform kinematic and tolerance analyses; own DFMA and DG design reviews.
- Develop 3D CAD models (SolidWorks) and create robust documentation for manufacturing.
- Conduct FEA and thermal analysis to validate performance under load.
- Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to integrate subsystems.
- Prototyping, test planning, and validation of prototypes and production units.
- Support supplier selection, BOM management, and cost-down activities.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; MS is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience in motion systems or precision mechanisms.
- Expertise in CAD (SolidWorks or Creo) and PDM/PLM tools; proficient in GD&T and tolerance analysis.
- Familiarity with FEA (Abaqus, ANSYS) and thermal management for electromechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of design for manufacturability and design for assembly.
- Excellent communication skills and cross-functional collaboration; proven project leadership.
- Hands-on prototyping and testing environment; willingness to travel up to 10-15% as needed.
