Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design for new products, from concept through production launch.
- Develop and validate 3D CAD models (SolidWorks) and detailed drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations to optimize strength, stiffness, and thermal performance.
- Prototype, test, and iteratively refine components and assemblies.
- Collaborate with manufacturing to design for robust, cost-effective production and DFM/DFA strategies.
- Coordinate with suppliers and external partners on prototyping and tooling needs.
- Own documentation, design reviews, and change management in PLM/PDM systems.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's preferred.
- 7+ years of mechanical design experience in product development or automotive/aerospace sectors.
- Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks) and FEA tools (ANSYS).
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with prototype testing, measurement systems, and test data analysis.
- Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to travel 0-15% for supplier visits and on-site testing.
