NovaMotion Engineering is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Chicago team. You will drive mechanical design for advanced products, collaborate across engineering disciplines, and contribute to scalable, reliable solutions from concept to production.
In this role you will own design decisions, develop robust documentation, and mentor junior engineers in best practices.

Responsibility
- Lead mechanical design and development of components and assemblies from concept to production release.
- Perform FEA and CFD analyses to validate performance and optimize designs.
- Create and manage 3D models and detailed drawings using CAD software.
- Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to integrate subsystems.
- Develop and execute testing plans, verify tolerances, and support prototype builds.
- Ensure adherence to GD&T, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support design for manufacturability and supplier development initiatives.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience in product development.
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or CATIA, and familiarity with FEA tools.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
- Experience with prototype testing, validation, and DFMEA/DFM processes.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to travel up to 20% as needed.
