Job description

NovaForge Engineering is seeking a results-driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Houston team. You’ll design, analyze, and optimize robust mechanical systems for energy and industrial applications. In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply state-of-the-art CAD tools, perform FEA, and drive design for manufacturability from concept through prototype and production.

Responsibility

  • Lead mechanical system design from concept through production, ensuring performance, reliability and manufacturability.
  • Develop 3D CAD models using SolidWorks or Creo and create clear, inspection-ready drawings with GD&T.
  • Perform FEA/CFD analyses to validate designs under real world conditions and optimize weight, cost and performance.
  • Collaborate with electrical, software and manufacturing teams to integrate subsystems and resolve interfaces.
  • Own material selection, tolerancing and design for manufacturability during development cycles.
  • Manage project timelines, coordinate with suppliers, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Support product verification testing, qualification plans and documentation for regulatory compliance.

Qualification

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering; MS preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of mechanical design experience in industrial, energy or manufacturing sectors.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo or Siemens NX; experience with FEA tools like ANSYS or Abaqus.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, materials, heat transfer and dynamic analysis.
  • Experience with design for manufacturability, prototyping and testing processes.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and project management skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot cross functional issues and work in a fast paced environment.
