Job description
At NexaTech Industries, we design and manufacture high-performance mechanical systems for aerospace, energy, and industrial applications. We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Houston-based team and help drive innovative solutions from concept through production.
In this role, you will lead cross-functional design efforts, own critical subsystems, perform robust analysis, and ensure products meet safety, reliability, and cost targets. You will collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, and quality teams to bring complex mechanisms to life in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibility
- Lead the mechanical design of complex systems from concept through production, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and cost targets.
- Own the design validation plan, including test algorithms, fixture design, and data analysis to verify requirements.
- Perform FEA, tolerance analysis, and risk assessment to optimize reliability and safety.
- Interface with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Develop and maintain 3D models, drawings, and BOMs using PLM tools; ensure change control is followed.
- Collaborate with suppliers on component selection, supplier qualification, and on-time delivery.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews, standards development, and best practices.
- Support field and production teams with root-cause analysis and field remediation as needed.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in aerospace, energy, or high-precision manufacturing.
- Strong proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks or similar), and experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus) and GD&T practices.
- Hands-on experience with design for manufacturability, product verification, and reliability testing.
- Solid understanding of materials science, coatings, and thermal management.
- Proven project management and cross-functional collaboration skills; excellent communication.
- Ability to travel up to 15% as required.
- U.S. work authorization or eligible to work in the United States.
