NovaForge Industries is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Detroit design and production team. This role focuses on robust mechanical design, systems integration, and the delivery of high-quality products from concept through validation.

Responsibility
- Lead conceptual and detailed mechanical design for new products and updates for high-volume production.
- Develop and refine 3D CAD models (SolidWorks/NX) and perform tolerance analyses (GD&T).
- Create, maintain, and manage BOMs, assembly drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
- Conduct FEA/CAE simulations to validate designs under mechanical loads, thermal conditions, and vibration.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Suppliers to implement DFM/DFA and ensure design for manufacturability.
- Plan and execute design verification testing, document test plans, results, and validation reports.
- Support product transfers to production, including tooling, process documentation, and quality controls.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience for consumer or industrial products.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA) and CAE tools (ANSYS or similar).
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stackups, and manufacturing processes (casting, machining, injection molding, assembly).
- Experience with PDM/PLM systems and version control practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- U.S. work authorization; willingness to occasionally travel to supplier sites or production facilities.
