Responsibility
- Lead mechanical design on new products using CAD tools (SolidWorks/Creo) and perform tolerance analysis to ensure manufacturability and performance.
- Develop and execute finite element and reliability analyses (FEA) to validate structural integrity under operational loads.
- Create detailed 2D drawings, Bills of Materials, and assembly instructions; work cross-functionally with manufacturing and suppliers.
- Plan and execute design validation tests, analyze results, and drive root-cause investigations for design improvements.
- Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams across concept, development, and production milestones.
- Support product lifecycle activities, including vendor selection, cost optimization, and value engineering initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (ASME Y14.5, GD&T) and maintain thorough documentation for audits.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience in industrial, automotive, or aerospace environments.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo) and familiarity with PLM systems; strong FEA skills (ANSYS, Abaqus) a plus.
- Solid understanding of GD&T, technical drawing practices, and BOM management.
- Demonstrated experience with design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly; knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Eligibility to work in the United States and willingness to travel up to 15% as needed.
