NovaMach Technologies is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our growing design and analysis team in Houston. You will drive mechanical system development from concept through production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, cost-effective solutions for automotive, aerospace, and industrial applications.
Key focus areas include durable component design, thermal management, and reliability testing, using best-in-class CAD/CAx tools. This role offers a path to leadership for engineers who deliver impact and embrace continuous improvement.
Responsibility
- Lead mechanical system design from concept to detailed drawings, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and cost targets.
- Perform FEA/thermal analysis (ANSYS/SolidWorks Simulation) to validate designs under real-world loading.
- Develop and maintain CAD models and documentation (SolidWorks, Creo) with GD&T adherence.
- Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to integrate subsystems and ensure robust prototypes.
- Plan and execute testing, data collection, and root-cause analysis for design verification and reliability.
- Support supplier selections and manage design reviews with stakeholders.
- Contribute to DFM/DFX activities to optimize manufacturability and cost.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and engineering standards.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience in automotive, aerospace, or industrial sectors.
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks or Creo), FEA tools, and GD&T standards (ASME 14.5).
- Strong understanding of thermal management, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with design for manufacturability, tolerance stackups, and prototyping.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment in Houston.
- U.S. citizenship or work authorization required.
