In this role you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, own design specifications, perform FEA and thermal analyses, manage CAD models, and contribute to product lifecycle improvements.

Responsibility

  • Lead mechanical design from concept to production release for mid- to large-scale systems.
  • Perform FEA and thermal analyses to validate performance and robustness.
  • Develop and maintain CAD models in SolidWorks and Creo; create detailed drawings with GD&T.
  • Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, and quality teams to optimize manufacturability and cost.
  • Manage design changes, BOMs, and documentation in PLM systems.
  • Support prototype testing, test plans, and root-cause investigations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and review work to ensure design quality.
  • Interface with suppliers and customers to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of mechanical design experience in manufacturing or aerospace/automotive.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo) and FEA (ANSYS, Abaqus) or CFD.
  • Strong understanding of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes (machining, casting, injection molding).
  • Experience with PLM systems, BOM management, and document control.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality standards is a plus.
  • US work authorization or right to work; ability to travel as needed.
