Join a fast-growing engineering organization in Austin, TX as a Mechanical Engineer focused on innovative product design and reliable, scalable manufacturing solutions.
In this role, you will contribute across the product lifecycle including concept development, 3D CAD modeling, design for manufacturability, and rigorous testing. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance mechanical systems and components that meet cost, schedule, and quality targets.
Responsibility
- Lead mechanical design from concept through detailed drawings and release to production.
- Perform tolerance analysis, DFMEA, and risk assessment to ensure robust designs.
- Execute or oversee FEA/CFD analyses using SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS, or equivalent tools.
- Develop prototypes, test plans, and participate in design validation and verification activities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to optimize manufacturability, cost, and lead times.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, BOMs, assembly instructions, and standards compliance.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and participate in cross-functional design reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of innovation and quality.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience in product development, with a track record of delivering robust assemblies.
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Creo, with strong 3D modeling and drawing skills.
- Experience with FEA/CFD analysis (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation) and simulation-driven design.
- Solid knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFMEA/DOE, and design for manufacturability.
- Experience with plastics and metals, prototyping, and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with PLM systems and documentation standards; self-motivated and results-oriented.
