Job description

NovaCure Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Medical Director to lead clinical strategy within our Specialized Medicine portfolio. This pivotal role combines medical leadership, trial design, and external partnership building to advance breakthrough therapies from discovery to patient impact.

You will collaborate with R&D, regulatory, medical affairs, and commercial teams to ensure scientific excellence, safety, and regulatory readiness across global programs.

Responsibility

  • Provide strategic medical leadership for all Specialized Medicine programs, including trial design and clinical development plans.
  • \n
  • Oversee safety monitoring, risk management, and pharmacovigilance in collaboration with CROs and internal teams.
  • \n
  • Lead interactions with regulatory authorities, investor updates, and scientific advisory boards for registrational and late-stage trials.
  • \n
  • Partner with Medical Affairs, HEOR, and Commercial to translate data into value messages and payer strategies.
  • \n
  • Mentor and manage multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high-impact publications and conference presence.
  • \n
  • Build and maintain external partnerships with academic centers, KOLs, and patient advocacy groups.
  • \n
  • Ensure adherence to ICH-GCP, SOPs, and quality standards across global trial sites.
  • \n
  • Drive data-driven decision making through interim analyses, risk-benefit assessments, and outcome measures.

Qualification

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) or equivalent; PhD/PharmD with clinical development experience considered.
  • \n
  • Minimum 8 years in clinical development or medical affairs, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • \n
  • Proven track record leading global clinical trials and regulatory submissions (e.g., IND/CTA, BLA/MAA).
  • \n
  • Deep expertise in specialized medicine areas (e.g., rare diseases, oncology, neurology) preferred.
  • \n
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and strategic thinking with ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • \n
  • Experience with safety signal assessment and pharmacovigilance workflows.
  • \n
  • Ability to analyze complex data and translate into clinical and value-based strategies.
  • \n
  • Willingness to travel as needed and work across time zones with international teams.
