NovaMed Institute is seeking a highly motivated Senior Medical Science Liaison to join our Rare Diseases team in Boston. This field-based role builds trusted relationships with leading clinicians and researchers, translates complex science into practical medical insights, and supports the cross-functional teams in strategic decision-making. You will represent our portfolio with scientific integrity, contribute to medical strategy, and help accelerate patient access to innovative therapies.
As a key medical affairs partner, you will collaborate with Clinical Development, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to ensure scientific accuracy and compliant communications across all channels. Responsibility
- Build and maintain scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in rare diseases to support clinical development and commercialization.
- Deliver compliant medical information and scientific presentations to healthcare professionals and internal teams.
- Gather and synthesize field insights to inform medical strategy, trial design, and labeling considerations.
- Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to plan and execute medical affairs activities.
- Support investigator-initiated studies, data dissemination, and publications plans.
- Provide training to field teams on disease areas and product data.
- Manage medical inquiries and provide timely, compliant responses.
- Track field activity using CRM and report metrics to leadership.
Qualification
- Doctorate or PharmD or PhD in life sciences; or MD with clinical experience in rare diseases.
- Minimum 3-5 years of Medical Science Liaison or equivalent field-based medical affairs experience in rare diseases or oncology.
- Demonstrated success in KOL engagement, medical communications, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong knowledge of clinical trial design, regulatory guidelines, and medical ethics.
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex data for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, medical affairs platforms, and data analysis.
- Ability to travel up to 60% nationally; flexible schedule.
