SummitBio Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) focused on Specialized Medicine to advance scientific understanding and patient access across oncology, neurology, and rare diseases. This role engages with top-tier clinicians and thought leaders to communicate clinical data, gather insights, and support strategic initiatives.
Based in Boston, MA with potential national travel, the MSL will partner with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to ensure scientifically rigorous messaging and compliant engagement.
Responsibility
- Develop deep knowledge of therapeutic areas within Specialized Medicine and maintain ongoing scientific acumen.
- Engage KOLs and investigators to disseminate clinical data, collect insights, and foster collaborative relationships.
- Design and execute regional medical affairs programs, advisory boards, and roundtables.
- Provide clinical support for products in late-stage development and post-approval, including medical inquiries and safety surveillance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to shape medical strategy and messaging.
- Create high-quality medical content, slide decks, abstracts, and publications to support internal and external stakeholders.
- Capture field insights and competitive intelligence, and communicate risk signals to the clinical organization.
Qualification
- MD, DO, PharmD, or PhD in life sciences with 5+ years of MSL or field medical experience in Specialized Medicine.
- Strong knowledge of clinical research methods, trial design, and biostatistics; familiarity with regulatory guidelines (FDA/EMA).
- Proven track record of engaging KOLs and translating scientific data for diverse audiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills, and ability to deliver at high-level meetings.
- Analytical thinker with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Willingness to travel up to 40-50% and work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- U.S. work authorization and ability to work on-site in Boston as required.
