In this field-based role, you will be the trusted scientific partner for healthcare professionals, researchers, and key decision-makers, translating clinical data into meaningful patient outcomes.

Responsibility

  • Develop and execute a strategic field-based plan to engage Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in rare diseases, aligning with medical affairs and commercial goals.
  • Educate healthcare professionals on mechanism of action, clinical trial data, and product safety across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Support clinical development by collecting real-world data, contributing to investigator-initiated studies, and facilitating site trainings.
  • Respond to medical information requests with accurate, compliant, timely responses and maintain medical information databases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Clinical, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Marketing) to ensure medical strategy consistency.
  • Drive lifecycle management activities, including new indication strategy and label expansion support.
  • Provide training and mentoring to junior staff and maintain up-to-date knowledge of disease area trends and guidelines.

Qualification

  • MD, DO, PharmD, or PhD in life sciences with active license where applicable.
  • Minimum 5 years of Medical Science Liaison or equivalent field medical affairs experience in rare diseases.
  • Proven track record of successful KOL engagement and scientific collaborations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and scientific writing skills.
  • Solid understanding of clinical trial design, data interpretation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to travel up to 60-70% domestically; highly organized with strong territory planning.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced, matrix environment.
