We partner with academic centers and industry leaders to translate novel discoveries into safe, effective therapies for patients in need. We are seeking a Senior Medical Scientist to join our Specialized Medicine division in Boston, MA.
In this role, you will collaborate with clinical development teams, regulatory affairs, and medical affairs to shape research strategy, oversee translational projects, and ensure rigorous scientific standards.
Responsibility
- Lead design and oversight of translational research programs in specialized medicine, ensuring alignment with clinical development plans.
- Collaborate with Clinical Operations to design trials, endpoints, and data interpretation for early- to late-stage programs.
- Develop scientific communications, manuscripts, and study reports for regulatory submissions and publication.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (Clinical, Regulatory, Biostatistics, Pharmacology) to meet project milestones.
- Engage with external collaborators, KOLs, and CROs to advance programs and partnerships.
- Provide medical review of protocols, informed consent documents, and patient-facing materials.
- Contribute to regulatory strategy and health authority interactions as needed.
- Mentor junior scientists and foster a culture of scientific rigor and continuous learning.
Qualification
- PhD in Pharmacology, Biomedical Science, or related field; MD and/or board certification a plus.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in translational/clinical research within specialized medicine or oncology.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial design, endpoint selection, and regulatory expectations (FDA/EMA).
- Proven track record of scientific publication and medical writing.
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with statistical software and biomedical data interpretation; familiarity with SPSS, SAS, R a plus.
- Willingness to travel as needed for collaborations and investigator meetings.
