Job description

Join Micron, a global leader in memory and storage solutions, as a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) dedicated to Process Development in Thin Films. Based in Singapore, you will drive technical leadership across the full lifecycle of deposition processes that form the core of NAND technology. You will shape next-generation thin-film materials, develop robust manufacturing processes, and partner with world-class teams to deliver high-yield, reliable devices that power consumers and data centers worldwide.

In this critical role, you will apply deep expertise in thin-film deposition to optimize dielectric and conductive layers, mentor engineers, and influence product roadmaps. You will own process development from concept to transfer, ensuring scalable, production-ready solutions that meet quality, cost, and schedule targets. If you are passionate about semiconductor innovation and want to impact billions of memory devices, this is your opportunity to lead in a vibrant, inclusive culture.

At Micron Singapore, you will benefit from a collaborative environment, access to cutting-edge equipment, and a clear path for career growth. We support continued learning, hands-on experimentation, and cross-functional collaboration with design, process integration, and manufacturing teams to push the boundaries of NAND technology.

Micron Singapore offers competitive compensation, comprehensive health benefits, and diverse professional development programs. You will have opportunities to publish, contribute to intellectual property, and participate in industry conferences as part of a global team solving some of the most challenging problems in memory technologies.

Responsibility

  • Lead process development for thin-film deposition (ALD/CVD/PECVD/sputtering) to create and optimize dielectric and nitride films used in NAND flash devices.
  • Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing to scale processes from pilot lines to high-volume production, delivering robust recipes, process windows, and control strategies.
  • Design and execute DoE studies, analyze data, and drive yield, reliability, and cost improvements through data-driven decisions.
  • Own equipment optimization and preventive maintenance needs; work with tool owners to improve uptime, throughput, and process stability.
  • Create, update, and transfer process documentation and standard operating procedures; train operators and engineers for seamless technology transfer.
  • Mentor and lead junior engineers; influence cross-functional teams across yield, reliability, and quality programs.
  • Present technical results to leadership and collaborate on IP opportunities, patents, and know-how capture.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS, quality systems, and data integrity standards across all projects.

Qualification

  • MS or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field with 5+ years of semiconductor process development experience (PhD with relevant focus is also acceptable).
  • Hands-on expertise in thin-film deposition techniques (ALD, CVD, PECVD, sputtering) and film characterization; strong background in dielectric and nitride films.
  • Strong DoE, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making; proficient with tools such as JMP, Minitab, Python, or R.
  • Experience with semiconductor metrology and characterization tools (XRD, SEM/TEM, AFM, profilometry, ellipsometry) and understanding of film stress and adhesion.
  • Deep understanding of NAND flash process integration, device physics, and yield improvement strategies; experience with production transfer.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, and project leadership skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams and mentor others.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and deliver results with integrity and accountability.
  • Eligibility to work in Singapore or willingness to relocate with local visa arrangements as applicable.
