Responsibility

  • Lead the development and validation of numerical weather prediction models and ensembles.
  • Produce high-quality, decision-ready forecasts and client briefs.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to integrate observational data and remote sensing.
  • Implement quality control and performance tracking for modeling systems.
  • Present findings to stakeholders and advise on risk mitigation.
  • Mentor junior meteorologists and provide technical guidance.
  • Publish or contribute to internal white papers and external research.
  • Represent the company at conferences and client meetings.

Qualification

  • Master's degree in meteorology, atmospheric sciences, or related field; PhD preferred.
  • 5+ years of operational meteorology experience or research in numerical weather prediction.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and MATLAB; experience with R is a plus.
  • Experience with data formats such as NetCDF and GRIB; familiarity with data assimilation and ensemble forecasting.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and GIS tools (Matplotlib, Plotly, Tableau, ArcGIS).
  • Excellent communication and ability to convey complex results to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work across time zones and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • AMS CCM or equivalent certification is a plus.
