TerraNova Geoscience Ltd. is seeking a motivated Staff Geologist to join our Houston based team. This role offers exposure to a broad range of projects, from mineral exploration to environmental assessments, and provides opportunities for career growth through fieldwork, data interpretation, and cross disciplinary collaboration.
In this role you will apply geological mapping, stratigraphic analysis, core logging, and GIS to deliver accurate insights for clients in energy, mining, and groundwater sectors. You will work closely with senior geologists, engineers, and environmental scientists to develop robust reports and contribute to project success.
Responsibility
- Perform field mapping, outcrop examination, and sample collection in diverse geological settings
- Analyze stratigraphy, lithology, and structural data to support exploration and development decisions
- Interpret borehole logs and core descriptions to build accurate geological models
- Prepare detailed technical reports and visualizations for clients and internal teams
- Collaborate with engineers, hydrologists, and environmental scientists on multidisciplinary projects
- Manage data quality and contribute to GIS datasets, maps, and geospatial analyses
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during field activities
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or related Earth Science field; master's preferred
- 3+ years of geological fieldwork and data interpretation experience
- Proficiency with GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS) and geological modeling tools
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in challenging field conditions and travel to sites as needed
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and sampling protocols
- Valid driver's license and comfortable with field safety practices
