EarthCore Mining Solutions is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our operations in Perth, Western Australia. This role offers the opportunity to lead geotechnical design, production planning, and mineral extraction strategies across open pit and underground projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize safety, stability, and efficiency while delivering value to stakeholders.
In this role, you will apply your field experience and technical expertise to develop robust mine designs, support long term planning, and mentor junior engineers. We value practical problem solving, strong communication, and a commitment to sustainable mining practices.
Responsibility
- Lead geotechnical assessments and rock mass characterization for open pit and underground mining projects.
- Oversee mine design and sequencing to optimize ore recovery, dilution control, and stability.
- Develop and validate practical long-term and short-term mine plans using industry-standard software.
- Coordinate with safety, production, and maintenance teams to ensure compliant and efficient operations.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate technical reviews and design audits.
- Analyze production data, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement improvement actions.
- Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and stakeholder presentations.
- Support tendering, cost estimation, and project economics for capital projects.
Qualification
- Bachelor or Master in Mining Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
- 7+ years of hands-on mining experience with strong geotechnical and design capabilities.
- Proficiency in mine planning and design software such as Surpac, Deswik, or Vulcan; strong AutoCAD skills.
- Solid understanding of geotechnical analysis, rock mechanics, and rock mass characterization.
- Demonstrated leadership, project management, and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- WHS compliance mindset and commitment to safe operating practices.
- Eligible to work in Australia and willing to relocate to Perth if needed.
