TerraCore Mining Solutions is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to lead mine planning, optimization, and technical delivery across our projects in Western Australia.
In this role, you will collaborate with geologists, metallurgists, and operations to maximize safety, productivity, and cost efficiency while ensuring compliance with Australian standards and company policies.

Responsibility
- Lead the mining engineering team in the development and execution of open pit and underground mine plans, designs, and schedules.
- Perform rock mechanics analyses, ground control planning, and fragmentation optimization.
- Collaborate with geology, survey, and production teams to optimize sequencing, stope design, and resource utilization.
- Produce ore reserve estimates (JORC/NI 43-101) and maintain robust life-of-mine plans.
- Develop blast designs, pit optimizations, and haulage routing to maximize ore recovery and minimize dilution.
- Monitor safety performance, risk assessments, and incident investigations; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical mentorship, design reviews, and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualification
- Bachelors in Mining Engineering or related field; MSc or MBA preferred.
- 5-8+ years of mining experience with open pit and/or underground operations.
- Proficiency with mining software (Surpac, Vulcan, Deswik) and MS Office; familiarity with Deswik, Mine2-4D, or similar is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of rock mechanics, blasting design, ventilation planning, and ground control.
- Experience with ore reserve estimation and life-of-mine planning under JORC/NI 43-101 standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills; ability to work across multiple sites.
- Willingness to travel to remote sites and work in challenging environments; valid work authorisation in AU.
