We are seeking a proactive, results-driven engineer with hands-on field experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovation in the mining sector.
Responsibility
- Lead and optimize open-pit and underground mining operations from planning to execution, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
- Perform rock mechanics analyses, slope stability assessments, and geotechnical instrumentation recommendations.
- Develop and implement mine designs, sequencing, and drill and blast plans in collaboration with geologists and production teams.
- Monitor key performance indicators, cost control, and production throughput; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety training to foster a safety-first culture.
- Coordinate with maintenance, metallurgy, and project teams to ensure timely, quality deliverables.
- Prepare technical reports, design documents, and permit applications for regulatory agencies.
- Mentor junior engineers and support data-driven decision making using modelling tools.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of mining engineering experience in open-pit or underground environments.
- Strong knowledge of mine design, blast engineering, and geotechnical assessment methods.
- Proficiency with mining software (Vulcan, Surpac, Deswik, or similar) and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI).
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations; ISO 45001 awareness is a plus.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work flexible schedules as required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is a plus.
