Responsibility
- Lead mine planning studies including resource modeling, pit design, and schedule optimization.
- Conduct rock mechanics assessments and support design optimization to improve stability and safety.
- Collaborate with geologists, metallurgists, and maintenance teams to optimize production and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental regulations and internal standards.
- Develop and review mine designs, production forecasts, budgets, and risk registers.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and support cross functional project teams.
- Utilize mining software (Surpac, Vulcan) and data analytics to drive data driven decisions.
Qualification
- Bachelor in Mining Engineering or related field; Master preferred
- Professional Engineer designation or equivalent; 5+ years in mining engineering
- Experience in open pit and or underground mine planning, rock mechanics, and support design
- Proficiency with mining software (Surpac, Vulcan, MineSight) and data analysis tools (Excel, Python)
- Strong communication, teamwork, and project management skills
- Knowledge of local safety regulations and commitment to safety culture
- Willingness to relocate to or work in Perth WA and travel to field sites as required
