Job description
We are seeking a highly capable Senior Mining Engineer to join our ambitious team in Perth. You will lead design, planning, and optimization across open pit and underground projects, collaborating with geologists, surveyors, and operations to maximize safety, productivity, and value.
As a core member of our mining practice, you will drive technical excellence, mentor junior engineers, and deliver high-quality feasibility studies, production schedules, and drill/blast designs in a fast-paced, globally-focused environment.

Responsibility
- Lead mine design and planning for open pit and underground operations, including long-range and detailed short-range schedules.
- Perform geotechnical assessments and rock mechanics analyses to ensure safe and economical designs.
- Develop and optimize ore extraction sequences, cut-off grades, and stope planning in close collaboration with geology and survey teams.
- Own feasibility studies, economic modeling, and project budgets; contribute to capital approvals.
- Create and optimize blast designs and fragmentation planning with blasting engineers and supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with mining safety, environmental regulations, and company standards across sites.
- Mentor and develop junior mining engineers, promoting knowledge transfer and best practices.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance to enhance production efficiency and equipment utilization.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering; Master’s degree preferred; eligible for professional registration in Australia.
- 5+ years of hands-on mining engineering experience in open pit and/or underground environments.
- Proficiency with mining design and scheduling software (Surpac, Vulcan, MineSight, AutoCAD); strong data analysis skills.
- Solid understanding of geotechnical methods, rock mechanics, hydrogeology, and safety standards (as applied in Australian mining).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management abilities; proven project leadership experience.
- Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams and travel to remote sites as required.
