TerraNova Mining, a premium, technology-driven mining company, is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our Perth-based team. You will drive safe, productive, and environmentally responsible mining operations across open pit and underground projects.
In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, optimize, and implement mine plans while ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
Responsibility
- Lead design and execution of open-pit and underground mine plans, sequencing, and scheduling.
- Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance across operations.
- Perform resource estimation, grade control, reconciliations, and ore recovery optimization.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and change control processes.
- Coordinate with geologists, surveyors, metallurgists, and maintenance teams to align plan execution.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, drafters, and field staff; promote technical excellence.
- Identify and implement optimization opportunities through data analytics, risk assessment, and design reviews.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering; Master's preferred.
- Professional Engineer license or equivalent (e.g., MIEAust).
- 5+ years of mining experience in open-pit and/or underground operations.
- Proficiency with mine planning and geological modeling software (e.g., Deswik, Surpac, MineSight).
- Strong knowledge of safety standards (AS/NZS 4801 / ISO 45001) and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on-site in remote locations and travel as needed.
- Data-driven mindset with a track record of delivering value through design optimization.
