Responsibility

  • Lead mine design optimization and scheduling using standard industry software to maximize safety and productivity.
  • Develop pit and underground designs, sequencing, and production plans aligned with stakeholder requirements.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses and ground control assessments to ensure stability and safety of operations.
  • Collaborate with geology, processing, and maintenance teams to optimize fragmentation, milling, and throughput.
  • Oversee blasting design and fragmentation optimization in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Support feasibility studies, prefeasibility work, and project evaluations with rigorous data analysis and modeling.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers; drive a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and high performance.

Qualification

  • Bachelor degree in mining engineering or equivalent; master degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in mining operations with open pit and or underground projects.
  • Professional Engineer registration or equivalent credential in Australia is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with mine planning software such as Surpac, Vulcan, or Datamine; solid data analytics skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of rock mechanics, blasting design, fragmentation optimization, and geotechnical reporting.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross functional collaboration abilities.
