Aurora Minerals Inc. is actively seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our Perth operations. You will lead mine planning, design, and optimization efforts to maximize safety, productivity, and cost efficiency across open pit and underground projects. Responsibility

  • Lead the development of integrated mine plans (long and short term) aligning with business objectives and production targets.
  • Optimize sequencing, material handling, and cut‑off strategies to maximize ore recovery and minimize dilution.
  • Collaborate with geology, metallurgy, and operations to implement safe, efficient extraction methods and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor performance indicators, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions across mining activities.
  • Oversee blasting design, rock mechanics, and ground control plans to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers, coordinate with surveyors and safety professionals to deliver high‑quality outputs.
  • Lead feasibility studies, cost estimates, and risk assessments; support permit applications and regulatory reporting.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering; Master’s degree preferred
  • Professional engineering registration or eligibility to apply for WA registration
  • Minimum 5–7 years of hands‑on mining experience in open pit and/or underground operations
  • Strong proficiency in mine planning software such as Vulcan, SURPAC, or Deswik and data analytics
  • Solid understanding of geotechnical principles, blast design, rock mechanics, and ground control
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated safety excellence and commitment to sustainable mining practices
  • Willingness to work on site-based assignments and travel to project locations as required
