Responsibility
- Lead mine planning and scheduling efforts, optimizing sequence, cutbacks, and stopes to maximize ore recovery and safety
- Develop and review designs for open-pit and underground operations, ensuring feasibility and constructability
- Coordinate with geology, processing, and metallurgical teams to optimize recoveries and cost efficiency
- Monitor and improve safety practices, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and field staff
- Support tendering, project reviews, and execution planning with robust risk assessments
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field; Master's preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent credential preferred
- Minimum 5 years of mining experience, with open-pit and/or underground exposure
- Proficiency in mine planning software (Deswik, Surpac/Geovia, or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of rock mechanics, ground control, and safety standards
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to lead technically complex projects and manage competing priorities
