Responsibility
- Lead mine design optimization and production planning using industry standard software to maximize resource recovery and safe production.
- Develop and review short and long term mine plans, scheduling, sequencing, and sequencing constraints.
- Collaborate with geologists, surveyors, and metallurgical teams to ensure accurate resource modeling and data integrity.
- Monitor and apply rock mass rating and ground control measures to maintain structural stability and personnel safety.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate cross functional project teams for complex mining projects.
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and stakeholder presentations for management and clients.
- Identify optimization opportunities through data analytics and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualification
- Bachelor or Master degree in Mining Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in open pit or underground mining operations.
- Professional registration or membership with AusIMM or equivalent recognized body.
- Strong proficiency in mining design and planning software such as Surpac, Leapfrog, Vulcan, or similar; experience with AutoCAD and Maptek a plus.
- Solid understanding of ore reserve estimation, scheduling, and production optimization.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with a safety-first mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, with strong problem solving and data analytics capabilities.
- Willingness to relocate to Perth and travel to project sites as required.
