TerraNova Mining Solutions is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our dynamic team in Perth, Australia. You will lead design, planning, and operations across both open-pit and underground mining projects, delivering safe, reliable, and optimized extraction. Responsibility
- Lead and optimize open-pit and underground mine design and planning processes.
- Develop and oversee long-term mine plans, production schedules, and throughput improvements.
- Perform geotechnical assessments, rock mechanics analysis, and ground control planning.
- Coordinate with geology, metallurgical, and operations teams to ensure safe and efficient extraction.
- Manage project budgets, cost control, and contractor oversight.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Communicate design intent and project milestones to stakeholders and senior leadership.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent accreditation.
- 5+ years of experience in mining engineering with exposure to open-pit and underground operations.
- Proficient in mine design and scheduling software (Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac/Minesight).
- Strong rock mechanics, geotechnical analysis, and ground control expertise.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills; proven stakeholder management.
- Commitment to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement; ability to work in a dynamic environment.
