Arcadia Minerals is seeking a talented Senior Mining Engineer to join our Perth-based team. This role offers the opportunity to lead safe, efficient mining operations across open pit and underground projects in Western Australia. You will design, optimize, and implement high-value mining solutions that maximize ore recovery while protecting people and the environment.
As a key member of our technical leadership, you will collaborate with geology, processing, and health and safety teams to deliver robust studies and integrated mine plans. We value data-driven decision making, practical engineering judgment, and a commitment to excellence.
Responsibility
- Lead the development and optimization of open pit and underground mine designs, schedules, and plans in line with safety, cost, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and optimize production forecasts, long-term plans, and stope designs; integrate with geology and processing teams.
- Conduct technical studies, risk assessments, and feasibility analyses; present findings to stakeholders and senior management.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers; oversee design reviews, audits, and quality assurance across projects.
- Manage data quality and utilize mining software (Surpac, Vulcan, Datamine) for planning, scheduling, and reconciliation.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards; lead incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with procurement and site teams to execute mining activities efficiently and safely.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in mining engineering, with open pit and/or underground exposure.
- Professional Engineer license or working toward registration in Western Australia or equivalent.
- Strong proficiency in mining planning and design software (Surpac, Vulcan, Datamine) and CAD tools.
- Solid understanding of geotechnical principles, blasting design, rock mechanics, and grade control.
- Proven safety leadership, incident investigation, and ESG awareness; excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to relocate or work on site in remote mining locations; able to travel as required.
- Data-driven, results-oriented, and capable of leading multidisciplinary teams.
