Join Aurora Ridge Mining as a Senior Mining Engineer in Perth, Australia. Responsibility
- Lead open-pit mine planning, design, and short- to mid-term scheduling using Surpac, Carlson, Vulcan, and related tools.
- Develop optimized mine designs and production schedules to maximize ore recovery and minimize dilution.
- Coordinate with geologists, surveyors, and production teams to ensure data integrity and timely plan deliverables.
- Manage ore grade control, cut-off grades, and reconciliation processes to improve resource accuracy.
- Oversee blasting design and fragmentation planning in collaboration with blasting engineers; monitor safety and environmental compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, risk assessment, and value engineering across mining operations.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with contractors, ensuring project budgets and timelines are met.
- Prepare technical reports and management presentations for stakeholders and clients.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering; Master’s preferred.
- Professional registration or eligible for MIEAust membership; minimum 5 years of open-pit mining experience.
- Strong proficiency with mining software (Surpac, Carlson, Vulcan, MineSight) and MS Office.
- Solid understanding of blasting, grade control, ore/waste reconciliation, and safety standards.
- Experience in mine planning, scheduling, cost estimation, and project management; excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with geology, surveying, metallurgy, and operations teams.
- Permanent work rights in Australia or visa eligibility for relocation to Perth.
