Responsibility
- Lead feasibility studies and long term mine planning for open pit and underground operations in WA.
- Develop and optimize pit designs, stope shapes, sequencing, and production schedules using industry standard software.
- Coordinate with geologists, met teams, and metallurgical teams to ensure resource efficiency and reliability.
- Manage design reviews, risk assessments, and HSEC compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct technical reviews, and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Implement digital tools for data analytics, scheduling, and asset management to improve throughput and reduce costs.
- Support tendering, procurement, and field execution with clear technical guidance and documentation.
- Represent the company in external audits, regulatory inspections, and stakeholder engagement as needed.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in Mining Engineering; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 8 years of mining engineering experience with open pit and underground exposure
- Proven track record in mine design, sequencing, and feasibility studies
- Strong knowledge of software such as Surpac, Vulcan, AutoCAD, and mine planning tools
- Excellent data analysis, problem solving, and decision making under pressure
- Experience with HSEC standards, regulatory compliance, and audit processes
- Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to mentor teams
- Willingness to relocate or work on site in Perth or remote project locations as required
