Responsibility
- Lead and coordinate mine planning, design, and optimization across open pit and underground operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards; champion a strong safety culture.
- Manage geotechnical assessments, rock mechanics analyses, and pit slope design optimization.
- Oversee production planning, reconciliation, and grade control with geology and survey teams.
- Develop robust cost estimates, schedules, and risk analyses for capital and operating projects.
- Mentor junior engineers; coordinate cross-functional teams including geology, survey, processing, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders to optimize procurement and logistics.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field; professional registration preferred (RPEQ/RPE or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of mining engineering experience with open pit and/or underground projects.
- Proficiency with mine planning software (Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac, Micromine) and data analytics tools.
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical methods, rock mechanics, and pit slope design.
- Solid understanding of safety management systems and regulatory requirements in Australia (WorkSafe WA, ISO 45001).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel to remote sites and work FIFO when required.
