Responsibility

  • Lead mine planning, design, scheduling, and optimization for open pit and underground operations.
  • Develop and supervise blasting, drilling, estimation, and ground control plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements; implement ISO 45001 standards.
  • Coordinate with geology, metallurgy, and production teams to optimize ore grade and processing throughput.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk assessments; prepare technical reports and stakeholder presentations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and field personnel; promote best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Lead on-site investigations, geotechnical assessments, and design reviews; support long-term mine plans.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license or Chartered status in Australia (RPEQ) or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of mining engineering experience in open pit and/or underground operations.
  • Strong proficiency with mine planning and design software (Surpac, Vulcan, Deswik, Leapfrog, MineSight).
  • Solid grasp of geotechnical design, rock mechanics, and ground control.
