Join our fast-growing packaging solutions team to design and optimize consumer packaging for leading brands. You will collaborate with product teams to deliver innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective packaging solutions from concept through production.
We seek an analytical and collaborative engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can translate material science into printable, scalable packaging designs.
Responsibility
- Lead the design and optimization of primary and secondary packaging for multiple product lines
- Execute design validation, testing protocols, and risk assessments to ensure compliance and performance
- Collaborate with R&D, sourcing, and operations to select materials and processes that balance cost, performance, and sustainability
- Develop and manage packaging test plans, DOE studies, and quality metrics
- Create and maintain packaging specifications, bill of materials, and change control documentation
- Partner with suppliers and converters to resolve manufacturing challenges and implement process improvements
- Drive digital packaging initiatives including 3D models, tolerancing, and design for manufacturability
Qualification
- BS in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in packaging development or packaging engineering, preferably in consumer goods
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials (folding cartons, laminates, plastics), converting processes, and shelf-life considerations
- Proficient with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo) and basic scripting for optimization is a plus
- Experience with DOE, FMEA, and Quality System standards (ISO 9001, GMP)
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to travel up to 15% as needed
