Atlas PetroTech Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Petroleum Engineer to join our Houston office. This role focuses on reservoir characterization, field development planning, and production optimization across onshore and offshore assets. You will collaborate with geoscientists, production engineers, and operations teams to deliver safe, cost-efficient projects that maximize value.
As a senior member of the team, you will drive technical excellence, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to strategic decisions that shape our asset portfolio.
Responsibility
- Lead reservoir characterization, modeling, performance forecasting, and reserves estimation.
- Design and optimize field development plans, including well placement, artificial lift, and production optimization.
- Lead well design and completion planning, including fracture design, sand control, and stimulation recommendations.
- Collaborate with geoscientists, drilling, and facilities teams to ensure data-driven decisions and robust risk management.
- Perform economic evaluations, risk analyses, and decision matrices; support CAPEX and OPEX budgeting.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers; review technical work, deliverables, and performance metrics.
- Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to senior leadership and asset teams.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of petroleum engineering experience in reservoir engineering, well design, and production optimization.
- Proficiency with reservoir simulation tools (e.g., Eclipse, CMG) and production data analytics; experience with Python or MATLAB.
- Strong understanding of drilling, completions, stimulation, and surface facilities integration.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
- Knowledge of HSE standards and regulatory requirements in oil and gas operations.
