Join Nexa Energy as a Senior Petroleum Engineer in Houston, TX, where you will drive strategic fossil energy projects from concept to completion. As a member of our energy portfolio team, you will collaborate with geoscientists, operations, and commercial leaders to optimize field performance, reduce risk, and deliver value for stakeholders while adhering to the highest HSE standards.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end project execution for oil and gas field developments, including scoping, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and performance tracking.
- Develop and review reservoir simulations, decline curve analysis, and field development plans to optimize production.
- Collaborate with geoscience, drilling, production, and facilities teams to maximize asset value and minimize capital expenditure.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, asset integrity programs, and regulatory requirements across assets.
- Mentor junior engineers, cultivate technical excellence, and drive QA/QC across deliveries.
- Manage vendor relationships, bids, and contracts; optimize CAPEX/OPEX through value engineering.
- Prepare and present executive-level reports, risk registers, and decision briefs to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in oil and gas reservoir engineering, field development planning, or operations.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; other certifications welcomed.
- Strong proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., CMG, Eclipse, Petrel) and data analytics.
- Solid understanding of HSE, asset integrity, and safety-critical operations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization and travel as required (up to 20%).
