Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Petroleum Engineer to join our Houston team. This role requires expertise in reservoir engineering, production optimization, and cross-functional collaboration with drilling and facilities teams. You will leverage advanced simulation tools and data analytics to maximize recovery and deliver dependable, compliant operations.
Responsibility
- Lead reservoir performance evaluations and material balance analyses to guide development decisions.
- Develop and maintain reservoir simulation models (Eclipse, CMG) for field optimization.
- Design and implement production optimization strategies to maximize recovery and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with drilling, completions, and facilities teams to plan well completions and artificial lift programs.
- Perform reserves estimation and reporting in compliance with SPE standards and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to CAPEX/OPEX forecasting and project economics.
- Monitor HSE compliance, risk assessments, and ensure data integrity across subsurface datasets.
- Prepare technical presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 8-12 years of experience in reservoir and production engineering in upstream oil & gas.
- Proficiency with reservoir simulation software (Eclipse, CMG, PetroMod) and PETREL/OFM.
- Strong knowledge of reserves estimation, material balance, decline curve analysis, and production forecasting.
- Experience with data analytics, SQL, and integration with SCADA or production data systems.
- Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Professional certifications (SPE, PMP) preferred.
- Willingness to travel and relocate to the Houston area as needed.
